    Altec 601C and N-3000 Question

    Hello,

I am planning a project involving a pair of 601Cs that I have; however, I do not have the crossovers to go with them and want to track some down but I am not sure which of the N-3000 dividing networks are "compatible". I definitely don't want to damage the HF drivers in the 601s by using an improper network!

I tried searching through the Altec literature but it usually only states that the diving network is "included" with the 601C and omits the exact model #... not so helpful!

    Thanks in advance

The N3000E was listed in the same ('63) catalog as the 601C, so that's a pretty safe bet.

Thanks for the reply. Would you happen to know if any of other variants of the N-3000 crossovers can be used as well?

Re: Altec 601C and N-3000 Question

AFAIK all N-3000 are 3kHz 12 dB/octave...I would think as long as it's an 8 ohm xover on 8 ohm speakers, or vice versa, it should be OK?

They look to be just textbook...
